Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Hebron Colony has been in operation since 1947.  They excel in alcohol and addictive drug rehabilitation. It looks like they run a tight ship and deliver a good service in solid love.

From their website, they allude to a spartan lifestyle focused on building a relationship with Jesus the Christ (a.k.a. "the Messiah")
Quote: "Hebron is not interested in giving people more religion; instead, we teach people how to walk in a personal relationship with Christ and begin to learn how to apply God's principles in their everyday lives."

The word "Religion" means a lot of things to different people. However for our purposes, we can feel justified in focusing not on any particular cultural sense of the "proper gloss" for this word, but rather just go with the biblical usage of "religion."  Surprisingly, the Bible takes a rather dim view of "religion," with Jesus using it in several places as a negative social force, operating in a virtual opposition to the advent and inculcation of His Kingdom. Got Question Dot Org has a good hermeneutic on this topic, addressing the biblical take on religion.

I like the structure of this place, where for admissions they require attendance at a few 10 a.m. chapel worship sessions, before acceptance. Then after the supplicant duly ponies up the dough (200 smackers), he embarks on an exciting 28-day blackout, during which he may not use a cell phone or computer, or any other such electronic device. Neither may he bring any reading material, but must rely on that which is available at Hebron Colony.  He goes out daily on work crews and focuses on glorifying the LORD Christ by developing a personal relationship with HIM, LORD of lords, King of kings.

This would be a good experience for many young men who are not committed to a healthy program of work, school, and thus and such.
